The Caribbean Climate Innovation Center (CCIC) in collaboration with local non-profit Constructive Solutions Inc. (CSI) will be hosting Caribbean GreenTech Startup Bootcamp Idea Generation Session on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at 2:00 pm – 4:00pm at the Harvest Conference Centre, upstairs Options Supermarket Arnos Vale.
The Idea Generation Session activities will include:
1. Expert Panelists includes Stina Herberg, Director, Richmond Valley Institute, Maurice John, Manager, ICaribiDreams, Winsbert Quow, General Manager, Solid Waste Management Unit, Ellsewort Duncan, Director, Energy Unit SVG.
2. Remarks from Carlinton Burrell, Project Manager, Caribbean Climate Innovation Center, Ashley John, Executive Director, Constructive Solutions Inc. and more.
3. Networking opportunities and access to clean-tech industry experts, investors, and Government officials among others.
The Caribbean GreenTech Startup Bootcamp Idea Generation Session will enlightened Entrepreneurs through a panel discussion with industry-specific experts on the current climate-related challenges being faced in SVG and the business solutions that can be developed to meet these existing needs. Participants will after which be exposed what to expect from the three-day Bootcamp by the event trainers from a mini mock- pitching and training session.
To date, the boot camps have attracted over 300 attendees, presented over 30 new business ideas, awarded prizes worth tens of thousands of dollars and drawn the attention of regional investors investigating involvement with the top ideas.
Through this event startups in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, water/waste management, sustainable agriculture/agribusiness, and resource use efficiency will receive opportunities for further development.
Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their business ideas through discussions with the panelist as well as develop new business ideas as a result of the outcome of the programme.
In addition to the panel, discussion participants and guests will be provided an insight on what to expect at the Bootcamp which will run from November 30- December 2, 2017.
Their, participants will be exposed to the rudiments of developing a start-up team and will be provided mentorship from business and cleantech experts to improve their business concepts. At the end of the event, each team will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges who will select the top three startups.
The first-place idea will win USD 1,000, while the second and third-place winners will receive USD 500 and USD 250, respectively.
