Why This Initiative Matters
Our project aims to address pressing issues such as land degradation, declining biodiversity, and food insecurity, while also tackling the social challenges faced by many young adults in our community. By introducing regenerative agriculture and su
stainable aquaculture practices, we hope to create a nurturing environment where local farmers can thrive and contribute to Barbados’ economic resilience.
We recently secured a land lease for a demonstration farm in Christ Church and are already preparing to cultivate local crops. This initiative will not only promote sustainable local food production but also empower aspiring young farmers. By mentoring at least twelve young adults in regenerative best practices, we aim to foster a new generation of passionate individuals dedicated to sustainable farming.
