Dive into the World of (Sea Moss Farming)
Pilot Sea Moss Farm Richmond Bay Union Island
A very successful pilot Sea-Moss Farm located at Richmond Bay, Union Island. This outcome was one of the best in the history of the program, Developing Responsible Sea Moss Farmers from Coastal Communities to the Market, initiated by Constructive Solutions Inc.
21 Responsible Sea-Moss Farms trained on Union Island.
In June 2020, CSINC launched its first Responsible Sea-Moss farming training to develop farmers from the coastal community to market on Union Island, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. As part of the initiative, twenty-one citizens received training and consultations to improve their skills in best farming practices, as well as pre and post-harvest processes.
From Coastal Community to Market Project Bequia
Constructive Solutions Inc. initiated the “Responsible Sea Moss Farmers from Coastal Community to Market” aquaculture project in Bequia in October 2020. The project has successfully trained ten responsible sea moss farmers and developed value-added products and prototypes. Dried sea moss is now being sold locally and internationally, including Canada and the USA.
Grenadines Gold, Collaborates Training with CSINC.
We conducted an introduction to Responsible Sea- Moss Farming training session with Grenadines Gold, a new sea moss business on the island of Canouan, to promote responsible sea moss farming from the coastal community to the market. CEO Lavern King was persistent in exposing citizens to this opportunity.
Marketing Training for Vincentian Sea-Moss Farmers
Constructive Solutions Inc. contracted the services of King Marketing Communication to deliver training sessions on Best Practices for Marketing sea moss Products. This was in collaboration with the Sustainable Grenadines Inc Sea moss best practice’s in Sea Moss farming an value added products project.
An Introduction to Responsible Sea Moss farming in the the Bahamas
In September 2022, and February 2023, The Bridge of Hope Bahamas invited Dr. Ashley John, our Sustainable Development Projects Consultant, to conduct orientation sessions aimed at introducing Bahamian citizens to responsible sea moss farming. The sessions were highly interactive, and it is expected that a project will be developed as a result in the near future.
Pilot Sea-Moss Farming explored in Exumas, The Bahamas
Constructive Solutions Inc. was contracted to conduct a pilot commercial sea moss farming ope1ration in Exumas, the Bahamas. From August 2024-Febuary 2025, we tested several sites, and innovated new techniques to grow sea-moss. This project came to an end due to unsuitable marine conditions and several limitations which hindered its progress.
Climate Smart Solutions Inc. Grenada is Established
CSInc. played a key role in establishing our affiliate non profit company, Climate Smart Inc. Grenada in 2019. We provided support to a young sea moss farmer in Wooburn and offered consultations towards scaling up the La-Baye Alternative Livelihoods Organization Inc. (LABALO). We supplied dry sea moss to the local market and the USA.
Mayreau Explorers & AMCO Union Island successfully scales up their sea moss operations.
The Mayreau Explorers & AMCO Cooperative Society Limited has received a grant from the Carcip program and mentorship from CSINC through the Canari Pieces program. They expanded their operations by building a processing and drying house for Sea Moss. We helped them complete and submit their grant application and provided some advice on expanding their business.
CSINC. Contracted by Sustainable Grenadines INC. (SUSGREN)
Sustainable Grenadines Inc. (SUSGREN) contracted CSINC through our Sustainable Development Projects Coordination program to provide training on best practices for Sea-moss farmers and producers of value-added sea moss products. Additionally, we conducted three assessments with the purpose of collecting preliminary data on sea moss growers and individuals engaged in value-added production related to sea moss across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Scale up of Operations – (LABAYE) Grenada
Now Grenada, a media station interviewed us about the plans and progress for the upscale of the Sea Moss Project by Labaye Alternative Livelihoods Organization, where we offered Voluntary MSME Consultations and technical assistance in improving their operations.
